Statement of Faith

STATEMENT OF FAITH

         1.  We believe that the Bible is the infallible Word of God, a revelation from God to mankind. The Holy Spirit inspired the human authors of the Bible. We believe that the bible is without error and completely true. (Matthew 24:35;  II Timothy 3:15-17, I Peter 2:2, II Peter 1:20-21,).

       2.  We believe the one true God has revealed Himself as the eternally self-existent, self-revealed “I AM” and has further revealed Himself as embodying the principles of relationship and association i.e., Father, Son and Holy Spirit “eternal in being, identical in nature, equal in power and glory and having same attributes and perfections (Deuteronomy 6:4; Isaiah 43:10-11, Matthew 3:16-17; Matthew 28:19; Mark 12:29; 2 Corinthians 13:14; Hebrews 9:14; I Peter 1:2; I John 5:7).

       3. We believe that man was created good and upright in the image of God before whom he walked in innocence, holiness and purity, but by voluntary disobedience and transgression, he fell from the glory of God to the depths of sin. In his fallen state, man is incapable of pleasing God or having any relationship with Him. Man’s only hope of redemption is in Jesus Christ the Son of God. (Genesis 1:25-31; 2:7; 3:1-7; Psalm 51:5; 139:14; Mark 1:15; Romans 5:12-21; Colossians 1:16).

        4.  We believe that Jesus of Nazareth is the Christ, the only begotten Son of God and the beloved of God. He came to the world purposely to save sinners. He has existed throughout eternity, one of the persons of the Trinity. His coming to the world had been foretold before He ever came in the flesh to die for us all. He was conceived of the Holy Spirit, born by virgin Mary. He lived a perfect life, preached the gospel of God’s kingdom, performed diverse of miracles, healed the sick and raised the dead. He was crucified, died, resurrected and ascended to heaven to become our high priest. (Matthew 17:15-17;  John 1:1-14; Acts 2:32-33; Hebrews 4:14-15).

       5.  We believe the grace of God, which brings salvation, has approached to all men, through the preaching of repentance toward God and faith toward the Lord Jesus Christ; man is saved by the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Ghost, and, being justified by grace through faith, he becomes an heir of God according to the hope of eternal life (Luke 23:27; Romans 10:13-15; Titus 2:11; 3:5-7). The “inward” evidence of the believer of his salvation is the direct witness of the Spirit (Romans 8:16). The “outward” evidence of his salvation to all men is a life of righteousness and true holiness.

        6. We believe that sanctification is what the believer is (not a process, but a state, which the believer has already entered into once and for all. Acts 20:32, Acts 26:18, Romans 15:16; II Thessalonians 2:13; Hebrews 10:10-14; Ephesians 5:25-26; I Peter 1:2). While Perfection is a Spiritual growth for those who have been sanctified and consecrated. Therefore it is the total yielding of one’s life to the Holy Spirit, living the crucified life; being an overcomer; and being in conformity to the image of Christ. Perfection and true holiness are impossible without the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. All attempts at achieving perfection without the Holy Spirit generally results in frustration and failure, in as much as flesh cannot crucify flesh. We believe the scriptures teach a life of holiness without which no man shall see the Lord. By the power of the Holy Ghost we are able to obey the command. “Be ye holy, for I am holy”  (Matthew 5:48; John 3:8-9; I Peter 1:15-16; 2:21-22; I Corinthians 10:13; Hebrews 12:14; I Thessalonians 5:23-26; I John 2:6).

        7.  We believe that all believers are entitled to, and should ardently expect, and earnestly seek, the promise of the Father, the baptism in the Holy Ghost and Fire, according to the command of our Lord Jesus Christ. With it comes the enduement with power from heaven to equip the Christian for effective witness and service, the bestowment of the gifts and their uses in the work of the ministry. The initial evidence of Holy Spirit Baptism is speaking in an unknown tongue as the Spirit give utterance. The unknown tongue is a prayer language given to the believer, understood by God but unknown to man. It enables the Christian to build up his own spiritual life by direct and communion with God, and is the gateway into a life in which both the gifts and fruits of the Holy Spirit should be manifested. This wonderful experience is distinct from and subsequent to the experience of the new birth (Joel 2:28; Mark 16:17;  Luke 3:16; 24:29; Acts 1:4, 8; 2:38-39; 10:44-46; 11:14-16; 15:7-9; 19:2;  I Corinthians 12:1-31).

        8.  We believe the ordinance of baptism by a burial with Christ should be observed as commanded in the scriptures, by all who have repented and in their hearts have truly believed in Christ as Saviour and Lord. In so doing, they have their body wholly immersed in water as an outward symbol of cleansing, while their heart has already been sprinkled with the blood of Christ as an inner cleansing. Thus, they declare to the world that they had died with Jesus and that they have also been raised with Him to walk in newness of life (Matthew 28:19;  Acts 10:47-48; 20:21; Romans 6:4; Hebrews 10:22).

        9.  We believe the Church is the body of Christ, the habitation of God through the Spirit with divine appointments for the fulfillment of the great commission. Each believer, born of the Spirit, is an integral part of the church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven (Ephesians 1:22-23; 2:22;  Hebrews 12:33).

10.  We believe that an heavenly called and scripturally ordained ministry has been provided by our Lord for a two fold purpose: The evangelisation of the world, and the edifying of the Body of Christ Jesus (Mark 16:15-20, Ephesians 4:11-13).

11.   We believe the Lord’s Supper, consisting of the elements, bread and the fruit of the vine, is the symbol expressing our sharing the divine nature of our Lord Jesus Christ, a memorial of His suffering and death. It is enjoined on all believers “until He comes”. (Luke 22:14-19; Acts 2:42, 46; II Peter 1:4;  I Corinthians 11: 26).

12.  We believe deliverance from sickness is provided for in the atonement and is the privilege of all believers. Not only believers receive healing for our bodies, but also we may minister healing and deliverance to others in the name of Jesus. (Isaiah 53:4-5; Matthew 8:16-17; Luke 13:11, 16; Mark 16:17-18; II Corinthians 1;19-20; I John 3:8).

13.  We believe that the prophecies of Jesus Christ second coming will be fulfilled in the same way as the prophecies of His first coming were exactly and literally fulfilled. He promised His disciples very definitely that He would come back to earth again (John 14:2-3; Acts 1:11; Titus 2:13; I Thessalonians 4:16-17;  I Corinthians 15:51).

14.   We believe the resurrection of those who have fallen asleep in Christ and their translation, together with those who are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord (Rapture), is the imminent and blessed hope of the church (Luke 21:31-35; Romans 8:23; I Thessalonians 4:13-18; I Corinthians 15:23, 51-58; Philemon 3:2-21; I John 3:1-3; Titus 2:12).

15.  We believe that there is a seven year span of future world history of the reign of antichrist following immediately after the rapture. It will be the darkest time the world has ever known. (Great Tribulation). It is the day of vengeance of our Lord. Man’s cup of iniquity is filled to overflowing, and God brings judgement upon the earth for man’s rejection of His Son. The salvation of the nation of Israel. (Daniel 9:24-27; Isaiah 61:2; I Thessalonians 1:10; Revelation 3:10; 9).

16.  We believe in the millennial reign of Jesus Christ, a period of one thousand years, in which the purpose of God is fully realised on the earth. It will be a time of theocratic rule. This period will come after the seven years reign of the antichrist. The one thousand years reign will be time of peace, joy, holiness, glory, comfort, justice, full knowledge, the removal of curse and sickness (Isaiah 11:10-10; 35:1-10; Zechariah 9:9-10; 14:16-17;  Romans 11:26-27;   II Thessalonians 1:17; Revelation 19:11-14; 20:1-15).

17.  We believe that the Judgement Seat of Christ is the judgement of believers. It is not a judgement of condemnation but a judgement of reward where believers will be rewarded according to our faithfulness in our service to God, quality of our Christian walk and the use of our God-given gifts and talents (Romans 14:10; 2 Corinthians 5:10; I Peter 4:17).

18.  We believe in the Great White Thrown Judgement which is the ultimate end of sin and rebellion against authority and the holiness of the Almighty God. The devil and his angels, the beast and the false prophet, and whosoever is not found written in the Book of Life, shall be consigned to everlasting punishment in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death (Ecclesiastes 12:14; John 5:24; Galatians 3:10; 2 Peter 3:9; Revelation 19:20; 20:10-15).

19.  We believe that the present earth that is so marred and cursed by Satan’s evil will pass away after the Great White Throne Judgement. After the dissolution of the present (atmospheric) heaven and earth at the end of one thousand years, God will create a new heaven and a new earth better than anything this word has ever known. The new earth will be the Christian heaven. It is the glorious eternal home of born-again believers. (Matthew 24:35; John 14:1-3;  II Peter 3:10; Revelation 21:1-5; 22:1-5).

20.  We believe that the lake of fire (hell) is the final abode of satan and those sinners who reject Jesus as their Lord and Saviour. Hell is the place of eternal torment for devil, his angels and all those who reject Christ as the Saviour (Matthew 25:33-34; Luke 16:19-31; John 14:1-3; Revelation 7:15-17; 19:7, 20:10, 15).
